Their relationship reached highs and lows during the entire duration of the show. The marriage between Monica and Chandler was a nice surprise for those who followed the show. Unlike other sitcoms, the characters aged and grew as people. Eventually, all but Joey and Phoebe were paired off. Friends was a hit with audiences of all ages, especially the younger viewers of Generation X who saw themselves or at least some of their characteristics in the characters portrayed in Friends.

The early episodes of Friends were among the best, although as the show continued, the characters seemed to come alive even more and more guest stars began making appearances on the show.
